BEING NEW IN CHRIST

HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE WEB SITE, for NEW IN CHRIST, a biblical small groups study for spiritual growth and transformation helping you to reign in life (Romans 5:17).

I am Bill Engle, the instrument God chose to write New in Christ. For over 20 years God has enabled me to share the truths presented in this bible study workbook and see hundreds of people set free and lives transformed including my own.

New in Christ is different than other efforts to make disciples because it makes clear some difficult essential truths from Gods word: like: brokenness, dying to self sufficiency, total surrender, exchanging my flesh for new life in Christ, and God’s new identity for me. It also features the Aldrich story. Their story helps relate you to the object of the chapters

God’s transforming me started at the time of my salvation at age 35. God had to break me physically to separate me from stubbornly hanging on to my dream of being a successful farmer.  The motive for that dream was pride. When the Holy Spirit convicted me to give up that dream I desperately surrendered to God saying, “I give up on me and my plans. You can do anything you want to with me.” I was instantly set free to be adopted into His family and to follow His leading. 

I am learning that continuing the surrender needs supernatural enablement. The key to carrying out an on going surrender is recognizing what God requires in each situation and being obedient. I am learning to yield my flesh, exchanging it for new life in Christ. Yielding my flesh supernaturally (Ephesians 4: 22–24) enables me to continue the surrender intent. The surrender can be likened to a mortgage arrangement where one signs up for monthly payments that actually buy the house. With God we don’t know the payments required. We must trust Him to meet the required payments through us.

God's new identify for us results in a better way of thinking of ourselves. God’s transformation continues and will until we graduate to be with Him in heaven.  New in Christ makes clear several transactions that will help us reign, continueing new in Him. God is not interested in making our flesh better. He wants to show us the futility of our fleshly patterns and make us new in Christ.  Our prayer is that God can use this study to transform and fulfill your life like He is transforming and fulfilling mine.

This study is so effective because it features a supernatural personal relationship with the greatest person that ever walked on this earth, our creator and Savior, Jesus Christ. His unique super natural relationship transforms us from the inside out. 

When God proposed that I write this book, I resisted like Moses did when God called him to lead the Israelites. Since I did not see myself as a writer I was sure he had the wrong person. But He countered with I will be at your side with content and encouragement. He was true to His word. After I learned to receive His thoughts, the content just poured in. It was a great thrill, as is this passion for discipling others with what God taught me through His word and His presence. The thrill of the Christ walk is to share your faith (2 Timothy 2:2).  God has chosen to use me to disciple hundreds with this concept. God wants to use New in Christ to encourage you to be an effective follower of Christ and a disciple maker. 

There is more to life than most of us are experiencing.  New in Christ promises and delivers the things that will make a huge difference in your life, such as, faith, hope and unconditional love.
